MONTORO ENGAGES SURVEY CONTRACTOR-TARGETING REMOBILIZED
URANIUM AT ELLIOT LAKE
Vancouver, BC – International Montoro Resources Inc. (“Montoro”
or “the Company”) (TSXV: IMT) today announced that it
has engaged Geotech Ltd. of Aurora, Ontario to conduct an airborne
“VTEM” electromagnetic survey this month. The survey
will be flown in conjunction with Pele Mountain Resources Inc. and
Verbina Ventures Inc. adjoining properties.
The resulting geophysical data will be analyzed for conductors,
representing possible sulphide or graphite zones that may represent
reductants capable of concentrating remobilized uranium. These conductive
targets will then be drill-tested.
During a recent drill program International Montoro intersected
a radioactive hydrothermally altered heterolithic breccia unit at
the unconformity between the Archean basement rocks and the overlying
Proterozoic sediments at Elliot Lake. On an adjacent property Pele
Mountain Resources intersected hydrothermal uranium mineralization
at a similar stratigraphic level. This is considered to be important
because it shows that hydrothermal fluids possibly carrying uranium
moved through the rocks near the unconformity. If these fluids came
in contact with a reductant such as graphite or sulphides, which
are known to be present in the basement rocks in the immediate area,
there is a possibility that a high grade unconformity-hosted uranium
deposit could exist on both Montoro’s and adjacent properties.
Montoro is compiling assay results for those drill holes that intersected
the breccia unit.
This press release has been reviewed and approved by Donald Hawke,
M.Sc. P.Geo., and independent Qualified Person under NI 43-101.
Mr. Hawke has been supervising the current Phase One exploration
and drilling program on Montoro’s Elliot Lake property.
