Bathurst, New Brunswick and Red Lake, Ontario prospects
to commence exploration
Bathurst – New Brunswick
Montoro Resources Inc. (TSX Venture Exchange “MNQ”)
is pleased to announce the mobilization of a diamond drill contractor
and exploration crew for its cobalt/copper prospect in Bathurst,
New Brunswick. The Company expects to commence drilling early next
week – two shallow drill holes on the Main discovery zone
as well as two further holes in the site of previous trenching which
exposed samples assaying up to 0.1 % Co & 2.06 % Cu.
The Main Zone is coincident with a property scale VLF conductor
that crosses the entire grid. Historical trenching near this VLF
anomaly exposed mineralization and geology similar to the Main Zone.
A rock sample collected from the surface rubble pile at this trench
returned assay values of 152 ppm Co and 6,890 ppm Cu.
Red Lake Mining Camp – update
Further to our news release of December 4, 2003 Belmont/Montoro
has given the go ahead to its consulting geologist James G. Burns,
B.Sc., P.Eng. to mobilize a geophysics contractor to commence exploration
on its four claim blocks comprising 236 hectares located in Bateman
and Shaver Townships. The properties are adjacent to properties
currently under extensive exploration by AngloGold/Rubicon to the
west, and Goldcorp/MetalCORP’s Black Bear property to the
north. Detailed magnetic and VLF-em surveys are recommended for
a first assessment of the properties, to map potential gold bearing
structures that may exist on either property.
The timing of the exploration efforts coincides with a much more
favourable outlook for gold and increased interest in companies
with good quality exploration prospects in established greenstone
belts from which a large percentage of the world’s gold production
is derived.
